Curate
The Institute is actively recruiting Curation Advisors — researchers willing to spot-check the AI panel, adjudicate disputed cases, and lend their judgment to borderline decisions. Advisors recuse from any submission where they have an active conflict. The masthead publishes when there are advisors to list; we do not manufacture a fake one in the interim.
Who we're looking for
- Active research credentials — doctoral-level or equivalent standing in a scientific, mathematical, or computational field within ICSAC's scope.
- Willingness to review borderline AI decisions — the AI panel handles routine accept/reject calls; advisors are asked to weigh in where the panel is split, the rubric is ambiguous, or an author appeals.
- Commitment to recusal where conflicted — declared upfront, enforced by the curator. No advisor reviews work by collaborators, students, or institutional rivals.
- Comfortable working in public — advisor names appear on the masthead; decisions and rationales publish alongside accepted papers.
- Light-touch time commitment — expect a handful of cases per quarter, not weekly load. One-year term, renewable.
The Curation Advisor (CA) tier
- Curation Advisor (CA)
- Advisory role in the Institute's curation direction, rubric evolution, and journal policy. Term: one year, renewable.
